Dracula's Ball June 20th, 2014

Tomorrow is one of the most off-the-hook Ball events we've ever done. Two great bands that have always rocked DB are returning: Carfax Abbey and Iris. There will be a captivating and jaw-dropping dance performance by Samantha Diaz. Chemical Crew will be go-go dancing throughout the venue. DJs Addam Bombb, Jet and Annabel Evil return to rock the dancefloor. And the folks at Wizard World are sending over James O'Barr to be our special guest. We're so excited we might burst.

The party happens on Friday, June 20th (that's tomorrow!) Doors open at 9pm and our event ends at 2am. Admission will be available at the door for $19 ($15 if you have a Wizard World wristband).

Tickets are $16.50 and are on sale now through Ticketfly (fees apply), Digital Ferret (in person - no fees) and IsoTank (online, $0.50 per ticket credit card fee). We'll keep our website and Facebook page updated with ticket information.

Please RSVP to this event on Facebook . You can also use our event page to invite your Facebook friends to the party.

Artists Appearing at Dracula's Ball, June 2014

crow comic 2

JAMES O'BARR: When our friends at Wizard World asked us if we'd like to have the creator of The Crow set up a booth at Dracula's Ball, we wound up breaking every desk in the office because of our jaws dropping and smashing through them. Wizard World, of course we'd love to have James! So they're kindly sending him over to the Ball, where he'll have a few tables set up to sell various items. Any item for sale can be autographed for free. James will take a picture with you for free if you're buying something from the table. You can also bring your own items to be autographed, but anything not bought at James' table costs $5 to be signed. Do not miss this opportunity! (Arrival and departure times for James may vary, so come on the early side if you'd like to meet him).

CARFAX ABBEY: Wizard World asked us to find a Philadelphia artist that would show all of their out-of-town patrons what our city is all about. Who else would we pick but Carfax Abbey? They've played the Ball many times before and their performances are always hard rock / industrial masterpieces. Guaranteed to be one of the most high-energy bands you'll see on stage, they'll kick the night off righteously!
STAGE TIME - 10:35pm (See Fan Video)

SAMANTHA DIAZ: Hailing from Peru, Samantha is a world-class dancer who has toured numerous countries, choreographed for television shows, and melted our monitor with her latest video (link below). She'll be performing a set between the two bands; be sure to catch your dropping jaw before it hits the floor. (See Video)

IRIS: One of our absolute favorite performers returns to Dracula's Ball. Iris plays some of the catchiest, most addictive synthpop music we've ever heard. Several of their songs consistently appear on club playlists around the world, thanks to smooth, emotive vocals and masterful hooks. If you'd like to feel uplifted, this is a band you have to see. They'll be playing favorites as well as tracks from their brand-new album, Radiant.
STAGE TIME - 12:05am (See Video)

We'll have 3 DJs at this event, one downstairs and two on a separate dancefloor on the second floor in the 21+ area. We're pleased to welcome back long-time Drac's Ball DJ Addam Bombb from Washington, DC. On the 2nd floor, we'll have DJs Jet and Annabel Evil from the Vampire Freaks website. They'll have Vampire Freaks giveaways around the venue, too.

Go-go dancers from Chemical Crew will be inspiring you to get your dance groove on throughout the night. You can see them on stage on both floors and might even notice them sprinkled around the dancefloor as well.

(Author & Punisher, previously scheduled to appear, has another commitment and is unable to perform).

Additional Facebook "Mirror" Profile Added

You may have noticed that our official Facebook profile hit the maximum number of friends over a year ago. We've finally added an official "Mirror" profile that will have the same information as the first profile. If you're already friends with us on Facebook, please don't add our new mirror profile as another friend. Both pages will be updated with the same information.

Details, Some of Which Will Be Familiar to You

Our June 20th Dracula's Ball party is an official Wizard World/Comic-Con event. What does that mean for you? Nothing, if you'd prefer...or you can use it as the perfect excuse to break out an outfit that you might not normally wear to the Ball. Our dress code has always been "anything goes," but this time you should feel especially free to pick clothes that come from another time, place, or reality. Be creative!

The location for all of our Dracula's Ball events during 2014 will be the historic Trocadero Theatre in Philadelphia. As always, the Ball is open to all ages, but you must be 21+ with proper photo ID to drink. Personal photo cameras are welcome. Large professional camera rigs with unpleasant flash bulbs are not. Video cameras are not allowed.

Our Facebook page is frequently updated with news on ticket availability and other matters. You can also use Facebook to officially RSVP to the Ball, Share links to the Ball on your own page and see how many of your friends have already RSVP'd to the event.

The next event after this one won't be until October 31st, so unless you want to wait until then to get your Dracula's Ball fix, you'd best join us on June 20th.

Best wishes,

[Patrick] & Dracula's Ball Staff
